Is stopping smoking hard?

The easy answer to that question is NO! I have smoked for about 17 years and was on about 40 a day when I decided to kick the addiction.

I was so nervous about finally stopping, I had never tried before but thought it was going to be impossible! You hear so many horror stories about people that have tried and failed to kick the habit. I really did think I would be another statistic, how wrong was I!

I really got the urge to stop about a week ago because I was fed up with paying the stupid prices here in the UK, (20 cigarettes are about £7!) I smoked roll ups and have done for about 12 years with no filters and what it was doing to my health was worrying me, a lot!

I then decided to read the book Allen Carr Easy way to stop smoking, I highly recommend his book! I think it played a big part in me finally quitting.

I really did think that after about an hour of stopping I would be climbing the walls and be very snappy and short tempered. So I started reading the book and as I got closer to the end I was getting really excited about quitting I really wanted to just go for it but the book said to wait until the end before you stop.

I then got to the last chapter (called your last cigarette) and lit my very last cigarette! I started to think about what it was I thought I enjoyed, I mean it tastes awful and you can feel the nasty poison going down your throat. I then went and had a shower and came down stairs. After about an hour I started feeling the urge to have a smoke, but I was determined not to give in to it.

I then (after a few hours) felt like the withdrawal feeling was subsiding a little and I started to feel a little better, I was shocked at this as I expected to be climbing the walls by now, but to my surprise I felt OK. I remember thinking, this is going to be easy if I am starting to feel good so soon.

I remember going to bed that night without my bedtime smoke, it was a strange feeling but nothing scary at all! I slept like a baby that night with no problem at all, it felt great to be a non smoker!
It's now been 5 days since I quit the filthy drug and I feel great! I wish I had done this years ago, I would have saved so much money and be so much healthier!

So my advice is QUIT! You will find it so easy and you don't need any replacement of nicotine like patches or anything! Just stop putting the cigarettes in your mouth and get on with enjoying your life! I am so glad I have quit smoking and feel great for it! I never want to smoke ever, ever again!
Go for it, you will be so surprised how pain free and easy it is!
